Vital accidents in server & First week of school in 2025
This time it is not my intention to change the platform again, really there is a technical error backend with my cloud server in Oracle, so I can’t access my blog (and the discord stats, some of my shared files and etc). As a result, I have to use the backup version and publish it from here. I will migrate this post once my server is restored, but I just can’t procrastinate or I will never write this blog. I was thinking about writing this last week and I already procrastinated, so I will just write here and hopefully you can still enjoy reading it.

My server support ticket. Stilling troubleshooting…
The first week is actually a little bad. (not completely hopeless, but kinda bad)
There are just so many quizzes.
US History kinda has quizzes once every three or four days, and there is a lot of reading in AP Lit (which makes sense). But there is also a lot of reading in history, symposium, and some ppl say (and I would prob agree) AP Stats.
But they should be fine with you frees, some might say.
Yes, they should be, except that as a senior and prefect, you are supposed to meet with the prefect faculty supervisor and Mr. Belk. You also need to talk with Mr. Loper in the first two weeks to figure out the courses. Oh, and just make sure you also communicate with Ms. Foraker on the transcript issue and AP signup.
Don’t forget your clubs! TI is already waiting for your application! Drama audition has already started! And at 3:45, please remember to be at the middle school entrance to meet with your team and go to the practice.
One more thing, don’t forget your summer capstone project! Just leave it in a folder in summer capstone project. And remember your ED and EA schools! And open your Common App and write your essays!
I will talk about more of these in more details in future post, because I can’t say too much as it has only been the first week of school. I am just explaining the life in first week. And also, I spent too much time writing this random thing below.
- Some really random thing
- Trust me, it is really random. Only read it if you think you know Gabriel really well and have lots of time to wasteThis is the first week of my final year at BTA?!…I'm not sure how I feel. Everything looks almost the same as it did my sophomore year: the drama auditions are happening, sports tryouts are being held, students are returning from summer and feeling overwhelmed, and the headmaster is giving a welcome speech with skits from student leaders in the chapel.Except.…..There's now a phone box for freshmen and sophomores. Teachers' offices have been moved, and some teachers are gone. The girls' uniform has changed, and the teaching building has been expanded. The senior room is in a new location, and different coaches are now leading some of the sports teams. Students are getting different schedules on certain days, and everyone has grown taller or has a new hairstyle. Even the catering and food are different. And now, a different group of students in colored shirts are walking around the building……Wow! I hadn't realized so many things have changed since my sophomore year. What about for those who came in as freshmen? Or even sixth graders? BTA would probably be even more different for them.I spoke with Mr. Picard a few months ago, and we had very different impressions of BTA. Maybe there isn't just one BTA, but many versions of it, each existing in people's memories at different points in the school's 20-year history. This makes me think of a question: a ship sails on the ocean, and its parts are continuously replaced. By the time it reaches its destination, all of the original parts have been changed. Is it still the same ship? The same can be said for schools. BTA has only been around for a little over 20 years, but some schools and universities have histories that span more than 200 years. Are they the same school as when they were founded? How can we even tell? And does it even matter if they are? This isn't a post for Medium or an opinion piece for the New York Times, so I won't attempt to answer these questions. I just found them interesting and hope you don't find them boring. If all of this doesn't make sense, my sincerest apologies. But whenever I think about this, an image always comes to mind: some BTA students, with a free moment at the start of the school year, standing in the hallway near the chapel. They're looking at the graduate photos hanging on the wall, pointing at the alumni, trying to find a connection or just something interesting, laughing and making fun of each other. They don't realize that one day they will graduate and be on that same wall for future students to point at.(Hopefully they don’t change the place to hang the alumni photos in any near future, if they do, then uh-oh)
