December 22nd to 26th, my mom and I went to Killington with Chelsea’s family and we skied for 3 days there.

We set off on Dec 22nd, and we went to my favorite sugar store to buy some maple syrups. We bought a milder maple syrup as well as a classical one. Gonna try them both. Maple has a really unique flavor and it leaves a unique impression once you try it. The local in Vermont bought maple syrups in barrel! We also had lunch in Johnny’s Kitchen , and I really like the cheese and the steak there. The bread is so properly baked that the softness of steak and cheese pairs with the crispiness of the bread, mixing with the juice and potato chips, and it is so yummy. We then went to our inn, which is at 34-98 Terrace Dr, and we had Yuan’s beef noodles. I also developed several functions for my ACTive and then we went to bed.

I began my first attempt of skiing after my last try at Rongchuang in Chengdu several years ago. I was in Never-ever group, and we learnt how to stop as well as how to turn. I forgot how to walk with the skis at first, but then I quickly picked up the knowledge I learnt. The skills are still not easy to forget. I am the best at skiing in our class (btw, there are 3 coaches and 8 students in my class). We stayed the whole day on Magic Carpet, but I believe I can already go to a trail. However, there are younger kids in my class who can’t ski very well, so at last I did not go on the trail. But still, the first day of skiing is ver fun, and I am already looking forward to the next two days. I had a Conrad class at night, and my main focus is to improve my website design this week. I met some problems with app development, and I am going to read more tutorials and ask teachers in Kevin’s group for it. We also went to the maple ice cream store after skiing, and I am already a fan of all maple stuff.

The second day is quite smooth, as I went on the white strip class. We went on Snowshed once, but there is a kid in my class that is afraid of height and thus we only went on the lift once. Having to say, the lift is so fun! It is much faster than the beginner’s trail, and the wind is not so chilly. We also went on the bus, and I learnt parallel turns during the class. It is cooler because it did not slow the speed too much. I advanced to green class by the end of the day. We had a hotpot and today is Christmas Eve, and even more special, a white Christmas Eve! Chelsea was so excited that night and she kept track of Santa Claus. We played a game – 5,10,K, which is almost invented by ourselves. We kept on improving the rules and tried to make it more fair and interesting.

On our third day, we enjoyed a lot of green and blue trails. We went on Ramshead, Great Northern, Caper, and so on. I am again the best in our class, and I instructed two little kids Tommy and Leo, who are from China. There are tons of Chinese while I skied, and wherever you go, you can hear people speaking Chinese. Chelsea and I then skied for 2 more rounds, and I now really enjoy the fun of skiing.

We went back on Dec 26th, and we had brunch at Back Country Cafe, which is also really yummy.
